Get cheaper takeaway meals…

August 10th, 2010

Register with borotakeaways.com (it’s Free!) and you could save money on your next online takeaway order with our affiliate (referral) programme.Once you’ve registered, log into your account and click on the ’sign up to affiliate’ button. Once you’ve completed the sign up process you will then be given a unique URL (website address) that is linked to your BT account.

What to do with this URL?
Email it, post it on your Facebook wall (or send it direct to your FB friends), tweet it, stumble it and basically get it out there. The more people who click on your unique link and go on to order a takeaway from us, the more points you will earn. These points can then be changed to credit on your account and therefore you can save money on your next takeaway order.

Got a local blog or website?
Then you can use one of our affiliate adverts too. We have a range of standard banners and ad formats that you can include on your site or blog which tracks back to your BT account. So everytime someone clicks on the ad and goes on to order a takeaway, you will earn 100 points. What’s more, for every order they make after that (as long as they don’t clear cookies), you will receive 100 points too.

How many points do I get for each successful referral?
Each time one of your referrals orders a takeaway through Borotakeaways.com you will get 100 points (equivalent to 10p). Although this doesn’t seem much it can add up… for example if you manage to get 10 friends ordering through the site and they go on to order 1 takeaway per week, over the course of a single year that would amount to 52,000 points or £52 worth of credit!

Help us sign up YOUR Takeaway…

July 11th, 2010

If you have a Teesside or Darlington based takeaway or restaurant that you would like to see on board here’s your chance to help us… and get 10% off your first online order. Just request one of our DVD sales packs and we’ll post one to you to pass onto your takeaway or restaurant (or their delivery driver). As an introductory offer we are waiving the £150 set up fee for the first 30 takeaways. If they subsequently sign up we will send you a discount code when we launch which will give you 10% off your first online order.

To request your DVD, email your name/address as well as the name/address of the takeaway or restaurant to daniel.pinkney@borotakeaways.com (or send a FB message to Daniel Pinkney). Note that the takeaway must reside in either a TS or DL postcode area and deliver.

About the DVD Sales Pack: The insert gives a quick overview of our website, services and the cost involved. The DVD itself, which has been put together by our team using Apple’s iMovie/iDVD software, includes keynote slides, screen recordings of the website plus some footage of our remote printers. This all helps to show the takeaway owners the bigger picture of what we provide, and ultimately why they should be online.

Terms and Conditions: 1. Only one DVD pack per person. 2. We won’t send you a DVD pack if the takeaway or restaurant has already received one or has been approached by us already. In the event of you stating such a takeaway we will always give you an opportunity to suggest an alternative. 3. Offer subject to availability of DVD packs. 4. Discount codes will be valid for a period of 30 days from date of issue.

The Healthy Takeaway Option…

August 29th, 2009

With healthy eating and fitness being the subject of much debate, takeaway food does tend to get a bad reputation. But given the pace of modern life it is little wonder that we end up opting for the easy way out in ordering a takeaway.

I am more that guilty of this sin myself! Having been a fitness freak (went to the gym 6-7 days a week for nearly 4 years), increasing family and work commitments resulted in the healthy lifestyle being knocked on the head. However I’ve now decided to get back to former fitness and therefore healthy meals need to be back on the daily menu.

The problem being is that healthy eating can not only be relatively expensive but it often takes an age to prepare. So… how nice would it be to be able to get a regular healthy takeaway meal? Easy, quick and no guilt pangs that you get straight after you’ve whopped up that lovely Bolognese Parmo! But I digress.

Although Boro Takeaways will predominantly cater for the traditional takeaway outlet (Indian, Chinese, Pizza etc) there’s nothing to say that we can’t bring healthy food to our customers.

So… we are thinking about targeting places like brunch or sandwich outlets and pasta or noodle bars. We can also suggest that our current takeaway partners come up with low-calorie healthy options where the nutritional content is highlighted and show the ’syn’ ratings for those who are on the Slimming World plan. We can then create a takeaway menu on our site that just lists the healthy options for you to choose from.

With places like sandwich outlets on board we can even cater for the all-day trade. So, fancy a sandwich for lunch? No bother – Order online at borotakeaways.com. If you are having an all-day business meeting, why not order some healthy snacks online to be delivered.

Mmmm food for thought! What do you think?

Online takeaway ordering…

July 26th, 2009

Well in a nutshell, it means that you will be able to order from your local takeaway online (as long as they decide to register with us!). But that is not all. There are many other features and benefits that we have planned for the site that should enhance both our customers’ ordering experience as well as help our takeaway partners interact with their customers – therefore improving their service offering.

For now we would like to share some of the key features we have planned for you…

  1. Customer loyalty and points scheme
  2. Specify delivery or collection
  3. Ability to specify a delivery time (ie order at work for delivery at home)
  4. Pay by cash on delivery or secure card payment online
  5. Ability to order from multiple local takeaways on the one order
  6. Choose from special online offers or meal deals from select takeaways
  7. Regular competitions where you can win discount vouchers, plus maybe more
  8. Save your favourite order for easy retrieval
  9. Tell a friend button (about your favourite Parmo!) and add to social media websites
  10. Incentives and reward schemes (ie for recommending a takeaway)
  11. Takeaway rating systems and the option to leave feedback
  12. Latest local takeaway news and developments

As the site develops and we get feedback we will look to add additional features. If you have any ideas yourself in the meantime, please let us know and we’ll bear them in mind for future updates. If you have any questions on the above features, just ask away!

Hello…

September 29th, 2008

Hello, and welcome to the first post of the Boro Takeaways blog. Now if you’ve visited the site in the hope of ordering your local takeaway online, then I’m  afraid you are a little too early, and for that I apologise. In that instance might I suggest Biancos in Eston (fine fine Pizzas) on 01642 459945 or Pizza Pan in Acklam (Parmos) on 01642 822122. Just let them know who recommended them!

If you are slightly out of the Middlesbrough area then unfortunately I cannot offer any suggestions (just yet!). Not to worry though, my team and I are on the case and will be approaching as many takeaway food establishments as we can throughout Teesside, Cleveland and North Yorkshire – once we get our sales act together. We also plan to offer some tasty incentives to those who can persuade their local takeaways to sign up to Boro Takeways.

Just so you know, October is our focus for the launch date – the website and backend systems are being developed as I write this and we are currently mapping out our PR, sales and marketing strategy. Hopefully come launch date we have enough takeaways and restaurants in our catchment area to make sure everyone gets a fair slice of the pie (or pizza as it may be).

That’s it for the first post. There will be plenty of developments over the coming days, weeks and months to keep you updated (and hopefully interested). We look forward to your continued feedback and support to make this service a thriving success for the region.

In the meantime why not become a fan on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/borotakeaways and be eligible for future discount offers, competitions and other incentives. And if you are a Twitterer you can also follow our Tweets at www.twitter.com/borotakeaways.

Happy eating!
